Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Toastmaster Coffee Grinder

Customer Review: Great little seed grinder.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used this for sunflower seeds, cashews, and salba. Works just fine.

A little tricky to clean since the blade doesn't seem to be removable, be careful when cleaning the bowl, around those sharp tips...

The instructions say not to use it for making pasty/oily products. Probably because of the difficulty of cleaning under the blades.

Customer Review: Superb.......
Summary: 5 Stars

...grinder. It is quiet, effective, easy to use, grinds evenly, and is a very convenient size. It is a wonderful bargain!

Customer Review: toastmaster cofee bean grinder
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product! it grinds even frozen coffee beans to the perfect grind.

Customer Review: coffee grinder does great
Summary: 5 Stars

This coffee grinder really surprised me. It was very reasonably priced, and really does a great job grinding the beans. And easy clean up. I thought it would be a cheaper quality item, because the price was so low, but it is high quality all the way.

Customer Review: inexpensive, well designed, small grinder
Summary: 4 Stars

I've used this now several days for my morning cup of joe. I freeze my beans and drop them into the grinder frozen to make my grind. There is a button to press while keeping the chamber closed which is nicer than models which start when you close the chamber. It lets you press the button 3 times while letting the big beans settle back to the bottom to be cutup. I normally grind, stop, shake, grind, stop, shake, grind, stop empty. Cleanup is really easy to remove residual powder in the grinder with a paper towell. Cord storage is also very easy because you can wrap the extra cord in the base of the grinder. It arrives with the ENTIRE cord stored in the base of the grinder (about 2.5 feet). For safety I always clean any grinders with the cord unplugged.

As for the motor, it is smooth running, the blades are well balanced, and I expect a long life. I had to buy a new grinder because my older brand name unit broke the top when dropped. I did not like the top cap being used as a switch on that older brand name unit because it would let grounds escape when I use my 3 step grind to get all the big pieces down to the blades.

The grind size is proportional to how long you hold the button down - about 3 one second bursts are sufficient to make beans into grinds for a drip maker. A little more might make cappucino (sic?) grinds, but I'm not that exotic. It's a great price and a bargain compared to what I paid for a worse design years ago!
