Customer Review: Belgium waffle-baking tips

I own a round Toastmaster waffler and it bakes better than the much more expensive Villaware models.
1. The batter must be the right consistency.
2. Grease the waffler after several bakings.
3. You must have the right amount of batter on the grill.
4. The batter must be spread over and around the grill very quickly; use the back of the pouring ladle. I use a soup ladle.
5. Cool waffles on a wire rack.
6. Try a box of Krusteez Belgium Waffle mix. It produces superior waffles! I always bake a large batch of waffles and freeze them in tripled plastic bread wrappers. Reheat them in a toaster over or conventional toaster.
My favorite? Belgium waffle and strawberry ice cream sandwiches, like the kind they served in Coney Island. These are addictive, so beware!
